Along the West Highland Way - Inverarnan to Crianlarich
6 people attending
10 places left
THE EVENT HAS BEEN REVISED LAST MINUTE. Due to a bridge collapse at Inverarnan, we will instead take the train at Crianlarich (meet at 9:45) to Tyndrum (£2.90) and walk back (7 miles, 300m ascent). We should be back by 1-2pm or shortly after. Apologies for the change, I'm sure we'll have a great walk regardless, after all it's the company that matters ;)
---------------- Information below is superseded
This is a linear walk/ Although designed around people attending the Hogmanay event, everyone is welcome.
The walk will be a gentle warm-up before the Hogmanay event starts. We will be following the West Highland Way from Iverarnan to Crianlarich, in a linear walk. You cand find out more about this section of walk here (link). I will not have a chance to pre-walk the route, but the path looks quite straightforward, following a river and going uphill towards the end. We will go have a quick peak at some waterfalls near the start and pass more later during the walk. Feel free to pack your swimwear for the falls if you're brave (crazy?) enough, though again I don't know what the access to the water will be.
With good weather, we will keep a gentle pace as the distance to cover is not much. You can make your own journey to Inverarnan, or meet in Crianlarich at the time and location indicated below. From there we will be taking a bus to Inverarnan and hiking along the West Highland Way back to Crianlarich.
