3 Ferries - Bute and Dunoon Cycle
6 people attending
6 places left
A day ride with a difference... 3 ferry crossings in one day and a chance to explore a large part of the Isle of Bute and then over Cowal hills to Dunoon.
Following on from the Success of the 5 ferries event, this is a chance to do more ferry hopping! There are a few hills on this route, especially in the Cowal Peninsular for a bit of a challenge.
The ferry fares for this trip will cost £9.25 per person and your bike will be transported included in this price.
A proposed 45mile route for the event can be seen at: https://www.strava.com/routes/19787825 - GPX routes for cycle computers can be downloaded from there.
If after all the riding, you wish to cycle back to Glasgow from Gourock, there is an optional 28mile route back: https://www.strava.com/routes/19788002

What to bring
It can get particularly wet on the west coast of Scotland so keep an eye on the weather forecast and come dressed appropriately!!!
At the very minimum, make sure you bring a cycle repair kit!
Food & drink
There will be some café stops along the way though it is recommended that you do bring drinks and snacks to keep you going.
One possible stop recommended by other cyclists are the Etterick Bay Tea Rooms on the western side of Bute or Sheila's Diner near Dunoon - for a cake refuelling stop too
