A walk in the Footsteps of Romans at Hadrian's Wall

This is a shorter evening walk that takes in an impressive section of Hadrian's Wall, an ideal opportunity to visit this World Heritage site.
If you are looking for a less challenging , shorter and rewarding walk why not consider meeting up with the OutdoorLads to stretch them legs and breathe in the fresh country air.
The start of the walk is the easier part with gradual spaced out contours and interesting far reaching views especially to the south and east. This part of the route selects a quieter path and track a short distance from Hadrian's Wall and winds through fields and by low crags to reach an Inn near the halfway point.
If the bar is not too busy we will stop here for a drink before continuing to reach Hadrian's Wall and a stop for a picnic.
After food and time absorbing the views the path heads towards the higher level section of the wall. There are two descents of note, one is to a road and both are followed by steeper ascents on managed stone paths. The final climb is quite a pull to reach a point over three hundred metres, the highest point on the Hadrian's Wall long distance footpath and from this airy perch a great a swathe of rural Northumberland should be seen if the weather is kind.
The last light of the day will coincide with the descent reaching a quiet lane to the start point car park and the option to grab a drink nearby before returning home, to your campsite or the nearby hostel.
So why wait sign up now, dust off them boots and get up to the old frontier to soak up the atmosphere of this incredible place.
