Summer Forest Walk - Epping Forest
10 people attending
15 places left
Enjoy the sun glinting through the trees as we take in the beauty of Epping Forest. We will begin by passing the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge, then taking a lap around Connaught Waters before we head north along 'Green Ride' through the forest towards High Beach. Here we'll stop for an early lunch by the Kings Oak pub where we will have a picnic lunch on grass (with the option of grabbing a lunchtime beer too).
After lunch we'll continue north through areas of woodland and grassland, before we turn south and begin the walk back. The route back takes us back through woodland along Centenary Walk and the Three Forests Way, past Strawberry Hill Pond and Fairmead Bottom, and concluding at the Royal Forest Pub.

What to bring
Water: bring at least two litres
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Day rucksack: typically 20-25 litres, they are comfortable to wear and allow you to use your arms freely
Boots: waterproof and breathable and designed for hiking, trainers are OK if the ground is dry and there’s little chance of rain
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters
