At just over an hour from London, this walk is a lovely summer saunter into the Surrey countryside.
There are great views upto and from the North Downs. The walk passes through farm yards, quaint villages (with some lovely pubs), escarpment and woodland. This a full day walk and we’ll be taking a leisurely pace. There's enough of a mix up uphill to get your blood pumping and gentle strolling to enjoy the wander and chat with ODL friends old and new.
Leaving form the small town of Gomshall, the walk starts by climbing up onto the North Downs way and then out along the ridge towards Ranmore Common, giving plenty of photo ops down into the valley. We then drop down into the valley towards Westcott and Wotton, then picking up the Gravesand Way. We the head back through woodland and farm tracks towards the Arbinger villages - enjoying a pint or two a long the way - before returning to Gomshall.
If you’re new to ODL this is a great walk to give an event a try. You won’t need lots of kit for the walk, everyone is always super friendly and it promises to be a nice relaxed day all round.
