Join OutdoorLads, their friends and family for the Whopping Great Wander this Autumn. A fundraising, sponsored 25 mile walk from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich.
Do this at your own pace on your own or as a team. We'll take in some of the sights along route including the Lea Valley reservoirs, the 2012 London Olympic Park, the Hackney waterways, heading under the River Thames via the Greenwich Tunnel, past the O2 and finish up at the infamous Cutty Sark in Greenwich where it'll be time for a final selfie. Then... if you can still make it a little further, we'll aim to enjoy a well earned drink at the George and Dragon for the OutdoorLads social.
This is your chance to fun-raise some money for OutdoorLads but not only that, we'll also be donating 50% to our event charity partner, the Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline - https://switchboard.lgbt/
Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline have provided support and information to millions of people since their phones started ringing in 1974. Throughout their history, they have been at the forefront of supporting our communities in facing the issues of the day. Proudly, some OutdoorLads members also support the charity as volunteers, so it is a pleasure for us to support them as we all rebuild from the pandemic.
How do I gather sponsorship?
To raise sponsorship money individually, it would be best if you create your own fundraising page. You can do it by clicking on the ‘Start Fundraising’ button on the OutdoorLads Virgin Money Giving (VMG) page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/outdoorlads
You will need to enter you email address (or use Facebook), full name, and address.
Once the event has happened and the sponsorship is gathered up, OutdoorLads will then ensure that Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline receive their contribution
