5 miles in 4 hours. There is quite a bit of climbing along the coastal path

Walk through Myths and Legends on the Cornish Coast in an area that's just oozes Arthurian Romance.  If you're lucky, you might bump into your Knight in Shining Armour....

This will be a relatively short walk of around 5 miles starting at YHA Tintagel, then heading North East through Rocky Valley, where you can see some Bronze age rock carvings, before swinging onto the Coastal Path and walking west at a very leisurely pace back towards Tintagel.  Although it's a short walk, there is a lot of up and down following the coastal path - around 500m of ascent in total during the day.

Will walk back into Tintagel via the Castle and Merlins Cave so if you want, you can explore there. The castle is managed by English Heritage and it's around £16 for entry.

This walk will be joining those staying at YHA Tintagel for the weekend as part of this Legendary Weekend.  If you're nearby anyway and want to join us just for the day, please come along.

If you're already signed up for the Weekend, you don't need to join this event as well - you're already invited!

Dogs

Dogs are welcome to join us on this event but we do ask the following:

  • Please appreciate the fact that not everyone is a dog owner or lover- especially when we stop to eat
  • Please ensure you adhere to the Countryside Code at all times - see (Keeping Dogs Under Effective Control)

If your dog is uncontrolled and strays in open land frightening other animals or livestock, the leader is supported by the OutdoorLads board of trustees to ask you to leave the event as this is not acceptable behaviour.
