We will start with a steep climb out of Helensburgh to get you 'warmed up' before following the 'High Road of the Gaels' through Glen Fruin - the site of one of the last Scottish clan battles between the McGregors and the Colquhouns at the start of the seventeeth century. An exhilarating descent will take us down into Garelochhead before enjoying a relatively flat ride along the shores of the Gare Loch and Loch Long around the Roseneath Peninsula. Our second steep climb of the day will take us back over to Garelochead before a 'cool down' ride back along the east shore of the loch back to Helensburgh.

Total distance will be around 36 miles (58 km) and we will include a lunch stop in Kilcreggan. For those interested, the ride is easily extendable at the start and finish.
