Join Stephen on a 10 mile in and around Arnside in Cumbria. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and trully deserves it's status
This is a slightly different route to the one I have done before and it starts and ends in Arnside.
We will start from Arnside Pier walk up hill then through the woodlands heading for Haverslack Tower. A slow ascent will take us up to Fairy Steps ,a cleft in the limestone cliff where we will take our time squeezing up the steps.
Heading down to the quaint village of Beetham ,we will cross towards the hamlet of Slackhead across a way marked limestone pavement and past an erratic.
Through various woodlands we will drop down onto the shoreline and follow the old railway track back into Arnside for some post walk drinks and maybe a bag of chips from the Arnside Chippy
If you have OS Maps on your phone, the walk route is available. Search for Arnside and the Pier. The walk starts with ODL and is a red dot
What to bring
