EUROPEAN SNOW PRIDE 2020 - 14th-21st March in Tignes is Europe's biggest gay festival of winter sport & music with guests coming from all over Europe, North America and beyond.
It takes place in the gay friendly resort of Tignes and in the snow-sure and huge ski area of Tignes & Val d'Isere, one of the most beautiful ski areas in the world!
European Snow Pride 2020 features great apres ski in a superb venue on the slopes, with DJs, saxophone players, percussionists, singers and performers, fantastic parties in Tignes' 3000 people capacity venue (Tignespace), a giant pool party in the amazing Lagon stretching over 5000sqm, a gay pride parade and much more.
A unique opportunity to meet people from all around the world and make new friends!
If you have not attended one of these type of events before they are great fun. In the daytime there are guided groups that you can join for skiing or snowboarding where you will meet lots of other gay guys, and rendezvous restaurants where multiple groups meet for lunch. In the evening there are parties every night some are themed (fancy dress) and are great fun. In between there is apres ski at the end of the day and the spa (if you have access).
PLEASE NOTE there are two European skiing events, this one (European Snow Pride ESP) and European Gay Ski Week (EGSW) which is held the week after ESP. So make sure you are signing up to the one you want to attend, especially if your friends are booked on one. (You could of course do both if you like!)
As a group, OutdoorLads has negotiated some special deals with the organisers of ESP as follows.
If you are a fully paid up member of OutdoorLads, the following conditions apply:

ACCOMMODATION
There are lots of options see the ESP website for details.
Booking for accommodation opens on the 2nd of September. I recommend booking early as the best accommodation offers sell out early, i.e. ideally on the 2nd of September!
So start thinking about this now as this is not far away!
You will need to pay 25% on booking and the remainder 1 month before the event.
I will be booking the deluxe special offer. It costs £620 (in September and increases every month), and is really good value as the apartments are great and it has access to the fantastic spa. This includes both event and lift passes. So just flights, transfers, ski hire and spending money on top.
The apartments are for 5 people but you don't need to arrange who you are sharing with till later so I recommend booking to secure a place as this will sell out. (There are lots of other options and the non special offer accommodation is eligible for discount)
If you have got your own group together then great, if not message the event leader who will try to put you in contact with other OutdoorLads looking to share. With the special offer accommodation , snowpride will allocate you an apartment with others you request to share with and/or will fill spaces with others on snowpride . This is a great way to make new friends.
Des and Adrian will be promoting ESP this year, you may know them from events or snowpride last year.
There are daily guided groups for intermediate and advanced skiers/boarders and ski school available for beginners. This year each guided group will be accompanied by an ESP promoter and a professional ski guide from evolution 2.

GETTING THERE
You need to organise your own transport.

There are transfers available run by ESP from main transport hubs.
When booking flights the transfers usually leave the airports by 3pm on Saturday. and are not likely to arrive back at the airport until after 2pm!! on the return journey. (Geneva)So please bear this in mind when booking flights. (After 4pm recomended, mine are at 7pm!)(The traffic is always terrible on Saturdays (5hrs plus from Tignes to Geneva, People have missed earlier flights in the past!! )

There is a facebook group and a WhatsApp group to assist people in communicating to book / share accommodation and to communicate and arrange to meet up whilst there. Message the event leader to be added.
DARRENS TOP TIPS!!
Transfers - they take forever so just accept and plan for it , get late enough flights home !
Parties - they are themed (released later on esp website) and it's great fun to dress up if you like to, but remember less is more as the clubs get hot!
Accommodation - deluxe special, or other with spa access is really nice if you like spas!
