Eryri Scrambles - Moving On From Grade 1 - Day 1
6 people attending
0 places left
This event takes place on Monday 24th June and is the first in a series of two, with a follow-up event taking place the following day - Tuesday 25th June. (You can book into either or both, and its not a requirement to have attended one event to attend the other. Different routes will be chosen for each day).
This event is ideally suited for those members who are experienced scramblers, and who are comfortable completing Grade 1 routes without a Leader or Instructor, and who want to build their confidence to progress to more challenging routes (Grade 2).
The Ogwen Valley offers a fantastic venue for scrambling with a large sections of routes across all grades, condensed into a small area which enables us to link routes up to deliver a truly memorable scrambling day.
Route choice will be made on the morning of the event and will dependant on the weather.
You must bring a climbing helmet.
Please note that the event may be liable to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.

IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not experts, do not need to be experts, and are not regarded by OutdoorLads, or themselves as experts, but are amateurs with some experience in the event type and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
By signing up to and attending an OutdoorLads event, you are confirming that you have read, understood and accept the content of this statement.

What to bring
Please bring kit/footwear for scrambling but try to keep your rucksack light to help with ease of movement on the scrambles. Normal walking boots aren't great on grade 2 routes and they wont help you move confidently. I always wear B2 boots or approach shoes.
Dont forget to bring a climbing helmet.
For reference here is ODL recommended Kit List.
Food & drink
Bring what you need for a day in the mountains, however the Ogwen Visitors Centre Snack Bar does do a range of hot/cold drinks and pasties.
