Ben Arthur, is also known as The Cobbler, because of its distinctive shape supposedly resembling a Cobbler bending over his last. At 884m in height, it only makes it into the table of Corbetts, but offers all the value of a proper mountain with a steep rocky approach to the summit and three distinct tops - the highest of which involves a short exposed climb through what is known as the 'eye of the needle'. This is not technically difficult, but does require a head for heights and is totally optional - except for those that are ticking off their Corbetts, of course!
