BSumC 2021 - 17 mile Circular Walk (with pubs)

This walk is not my creation, but that of J.moore, who ran the event in 2018 at BIG Summer Camp
This hike is a big, all-day one (we'll be out for around 8-9 hours including 6-7 hours hiking and a couple of hours for breaks, lunch and the pub/s). It's aimed at anyone who wants to take the opportunity to do a good, long hike. The scenery around there is lovely, and hopefully the weather will be too.
We set off direct from the campsite and return there at the end, so there's no hassle of setting off in a convoy of cars and having to find parking. We'll work our way north to reach the the South Downs Way, along that for a while, then back south to the campsite.
Apart from the first couple of km through a residential area, we'll be mostly off road, on paths and tracks, through some woodland and across some open space (so bring suncream/hat etc if it's hot or a waterproof jacket if it's wet).
There's a total of 520m ascent over the walk, though the highest point we reach is only around 190m.
You can see the full route we will be following here https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/route/2311789/ODL-OutdoorLads-Big-Summer-Camp-2018-27km-walk-with-pubs (you may need OS Maps subscription to see this).
Late on in the walk we'll reach The World's End pub (https://www.worldsendpatching.co.uk) which is open all day and serves food all day too. We can stay there for as long as we like and then do the final hour/5km back to the campsite when we're ready for it.

What to bring
If it's hot and sunny: suncream and a hat
If it's cool and rainy: a waterproof jacket
(Given the UK weather: probably bring all three just in case)
Ideally wear walking boots though you'd be OK in good trainers as there's no ground that's very rough
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch and snacks to eat along the way.
At least 2 litres of water or other hydrating drinks.
