Need some gentle exercise on the morning after the night before?

Join us on a shortish walk that starts out from the Birthday Weekend venue along the Monsal Trail (the line of the former Midland Junction Railway), under the hill through the Headstone Tunnel (length 485m) emerging at the famous railway viaduct across Monsal Dale.  From here we walk west along the northern edge of the dale and drop down through the woods to Lees Bottom in the valley of the River Wye.  An easy walk follows through woodland alongside the river, passing an old mill with two water wheels and arriving at the well-known village of Ashford in the Water.  Here, we can stop for a drink at the pub or the café, next door to each other in the village, before making our way back a mile up the lane to Thornbridge Outdoors.

A perfect end to a weekend out with the lads!  Distance: around 6.5 miles / 10.5 km with 385 metres ascent.
