Ben Cruachan (1126m) is the highest point in Argyll and with its neighbouring Munro, Stob Diamh (998m) forms a fine and prominent ridge overlooking the Pass of Brander and Cruachan Dam, a hydro-electric scheme built in the 1960s - the actual power station itself situated in a hollow inside the mountain.

We will follow a circular route of approximately 14km (9 miles), taking in both munros and possibly also a Corbett (Beinn a'Bhuiridh). You should have a reasonable level of physical fitness in order to tackle the entire circuit.

Details of the proposed route are available on the Walkhighlands website.

This event is one that is celebrating the broadcast 30 years ago of 'The Munro Show'.  This STV programme was broadcast in 1991/92 with Muriel Gray at its helm, which was a series that was involved in bringing mountaineering and munro bagging into the modern mainstream. This is one of a handful of the 22 mountains covered that can be found on YouTube
