Woodlands and Old Father Thames in deepest Bucks
17 people attending
0 places left
A varied walk across following the Shakespeare/Chiltern trail and part of the Thames path. We will head directly onto the Thames path westward and then move inland following the Chiltern Way trail through ancient woodlands a nature reserve and open country side until we reach the pretty village of Hambleden with its pretty Church and Manor House, the former home of Lord Cardigan who led the ill-fated Charge of the Light Brigade. We will then make our way down toward the Thames and cross over via the impressive weir at Hambleden Lock. We will follow the Thames path along the south side of the river to Hurley village and then cross to the North side of the rover at Hurley Lock and back to our starting destination. If the bridge at Hurley is still out of use then we will make our way back to Marlow
