Join Stephen on a 9 mile walk round a scenic part of Lancashire between Preston and Blackburn. The highlights of the walk will be-

Ascending Billinge Hill with views across to the Pennines
Finding the Wainwright memorial
Picking up the Witton Weaver's Way descending into Hoghton Bottoms
visting the grounds of Hoghton Tower - the 400 year old home of the De Hoghton family
Taking time out to visit the farmer's market at the tower (50p entrance) and have a break or lunch there- but the market finishes at 2pm
Walking through the river Darwen ravine past the rapids
If we return in time - visting the park cafe for post walk drinks

I would advise you bring waterproofs , warm clothing and sturdy waterproof shoes as some of the route may be very muddy

It is best to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water
