Join Stephen on a 9 mile walk round a scenic part of Lancashire between Preston and Blackburn. The highlights of the walk will be-
- Ascending Billinge Hill with views across to the Pennines
- Finding the Wainwright memorial
- Picking up the Witton Weaver's Way descending into Hoghton Bottoms
- visting the grounds of Hoghton Tower - the 400 year old home of the De Hoghton family
- Taking time out to visit the farmer's market at the tower (50p entrance) and have a break or lunch there- but the market finishes at 2pm
- Walking through the river Darwen ravine past the rapids
- If we return in time - visting the park cafe for post walk drinks


What to bring
I would advise you bring waterproofs , warm clothing and sturdy waterproof shoes as some of the route may be very muddy
Food & drink
It is best to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water
