We've all wandered around our local woodland, or taken an OutdoorLads walk that involved some tree cover. Woodlands are one of our most treasured environments and the British Isles has a strong relationship with trees, from the grand oaks that made sailing ships, to the quiet yews sitting in many graveyards (commonly there as they are good for making longbows!).

Woodlands are havens for wildlife and store a significant amount of carbon, while also helping to prevent flooding and providing us with a quiet space to relax, recharge and help our wellbeing. But it's not all about trees! There is a lot more going on than the quiet giants. Do you know what wildlife there is in these grand living treasures in winter?

Our member Russ is an expert in guided walks and educating people on the wildlife of the British Isles. He has, what will be, an informative and educational talk about what you can see in your local woodland during winter. No doubt we will all learn something and be able to go out the next day and see something new in our local wood. He'll also be able to answer questions if you've noticed something on a walk and are unsure.

While you're here...

We're painfully aware that people are struggling at the moment, so for those that can't #GetOutMore, we don't want to charge you to #StayInMore.

If you are a PAYG Member and in a position to make a donation in return for a #StayInMore event you've really enjoyed, we'd massively appreciate it. Full members can donate too, of course. We welcome any and all support for the charity.

We want to make sure OutdoorLads is here in the future to get more gay, bi and trans guys in to the great outdoors.
