West Lomond and the Devil’s Burdens Walk

4 places left
Most Fifers are familiar with the loop from Craigmead car park, up East Lomond, and then back to conquer West Lomond, but for some reason, the Devil’s Burdens are often overlooked.
The Devil’s Burdens are a rock formation hidden behind West Lomond – and although it can be a boggy descent from the hills down to the rocks, the views are definitely worthwhile. This will be our lunch stop.
From the Burdens, we’ll head past the Harperleas Reservoir, and back towards the car park.
This should take around 4 hours including lunch.
Afterwards, I would like to invite members to join me for coffee and cake at Loch Leven’s Larder (Channel Farm, Kinross, KY13 9HD) which is on your way back to the M90.

What to bring
I’ve walked this route in various weather conditions in trainers. However, since we will be out for four hours, and since West Lomond can be a wind trap, I’d recommend clothing suitable for the day, a set of waterproofs in your backpack, and hiking boots.
Lunch will be at the half way point. Bring something to sit on.
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch and a hot drink to warm you up plus some snacks.
