Villages of the Southern North York Moors

A summer, circular walk on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. We will focus on lowland villages, connected by a mix of quiet country lanes and historic paths and tracks. We will pass through grazing pastures and fish-rich rivers and streams where, if we're lucky, we might glimpse the brilliant blue of a kingfisher.
The villages of Cropton, Appleton-le-Moors, Sinnington, Spaunton and Lastingham are built primarily from local stone which gives the villages their character. Some of the villages have a pub where we might seek refreshment on a warm summer's day.
At the end of our walk, in Cropton, there is the opportunity to visit the pub which is home to the Cropton Brewery. Food is available in the pub / beer garden to round off the walk should anyone wish to partake.

NB The leader is staying at the basic camp site next to the New Inn, Cropton, on the Saturday and Sunday nights. Should you wish to join me for either or both nights, please book through pitchup website and search for New Inn, Pickering (pitchup.com). You might also check the Inn's website http://www.newinncropton.co.uk/ for facilities (no shower!) and food (I loved the pie I had 😋) and the beer is fab.
