Follow in the footsteps of Tarka the Otter (the furry aquatic animal, not a guy from the Bear Pit in Bristol!) around the Northern Exmoor Coast.

We'll start in the picturesque Valley of the Rocks - inspiration for Wordsworth, Coleridge and many other Romantic Poets.

We'll then head inland towards Cherrybridge and Barbrook to cross the West Lyn River and then follow that around to the Tarka trail itself on the East Lyn.  Then, after crossing the East Lyn at Watersmeet, we'll head for the coast to pickup the South West Coast Path back to Lynmouth.

In Lynmouth, we might cheat a bit and catch the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway from the harbour to the cliff top, (or we could walk up to the top of the cliff) before continuing to follow the Coast Path back to the Valley of the Rocks.

Dogs are welcome to join us on this event but we do ask the following:

  • Please appreciate the fact that not everyone is a dog owner or lover- especially when we stop to eat
  • Please ensure you adhere to the Countryside Code at all times - see (Keeping Dogs Under Effective Control)

If your dog is uncontrolled and strays in open land frightening other animals or livestock, the leader is supported by the OutdoorLads board of trustees to ask you to leave the event as this is not acceptable behaviour.

DONT FORGET YOU CAN DONATE TO OUTDOORLADS HERE...
