Summertime in The Queen of Welsh Resorts

It's time to get out the sun hat, sunglasses, bucket and spade as we're heading to the seaside for a Saturday walk (to allow time for parkrun), to explore the gloriously sunny and beautiful surroundings of the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno.
For a summertime walk, we will be avoiding anything strenuous and walking leisurely around the town, from shore to shore to explore some of the history and features which has drawn crowds to Llandudno over the past centuries.
We will be following elements of the Alice in Wonderland trail and seeing some of the town's links to the famous book.
There will be opportunities to wander along the famous pier, visit the amusements, have ice cream and spend time on the West Shore. We will finish at a pub and therefore there will be time for a pint.
In total, the walk is around 6 miles and the course is mostly flat. We will be walking at a leisurely pace.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Some of the beach is off-limits to dogs and they will have to be kept on a lead for most of the walk

What to bring
This is a leisure walk and as such the kit you need to bring should be suited to walking around town. The weather may be changeable despite being summer.
I would however recommend the following:
- Trainers: comfortable for walking around town
- Waterproof jacket: for keeping you dry if it should rain. It rains occasionally in Wales.
- Obviously if we are in the middle of a 35 degree heatwave at this point, leave the jacket at home!
- Hat or cap: to provide some shade from the sun
- Sunglasses: so you're not squinting in the sun
- Sun cream: Yes, essential even if overcast (Get a SFP30+ with UVA 5*, most supermarket own brands are good here). There is little shade, it is summer and the sunburn will be painful
- Snacks: bring biscuits, energy bars, gels, bananas, chocolate or dried fruit for example and put them somewhere easy to get hold of
Food & drink
We will be walking around town and it is the intention of the event leader to stop for fish and chips. You may however bring your own packed lunch and any water you wish to consume on the walk.
