South Midweek Walk 2021 - Ford to Littlehampton via the Arun
5 people attending
5 places left
Come along on this easy stroll along the River Arun, At a gentle 3 miles in length, all on the flat, it will be just enough to blow away the cobwebs of the day, and work up a healthy thirst and appetite. This is a Linear Walk so you will need a train or a lift back to your Start Point. We will officially end the walk in Littlehampton.
There may be an option of food and drink, covid allowing, but this will not be part of the official event but by September I really hope so!
The final midweek walk in the season.

What to bring
Hand sanitiser and a face covering: whilst we are living with Covid-19, please bring your own to events to help keep everyone safe
Water: bring at least a litre
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Rucksack: or any other bag
Footwear: hiking boots, sturdy trainers or wellies
Layered clothing: lets you quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. Go for a base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather add an outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)
Trousers: ideally not jeans which become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK
Waterproof jacket: breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry
Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer
Sunglasses: for any sunny day, even in winter
Sun cream: can be useful even on cloudy and winter days
Snacks: bring biscuits, energy bars, gels, bananas, chocolate or dried fruit for example and put them somewhere easy to get hold of
Food & drink
Bring something to snack on to keep you going if necessary. Due to Covid restrictions we have to assume we will not be able to get an outside table for a drink and food but never say never though at the time of adding this walk it is impossible to know what if any, the restrictions will be.
The most likely choice of pub will be the Steam Packet with the Arun view a close second, but neither pub has much outside space.
