Snakes in the Heather; reptile surveys, citizen science, education and the role of conservation projects

Many of you will have enjoyed walks across heathland on the Weald, in the New Forest or on the Purbecks. Did you know that these heathlands are home to all 6 of the UK’s reptile species? These heathlands are a habitat that is rarer than rainforest and they are internationally protected. Owain Masters, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, is going to explain how these heathlands are managed for reptiles, why this is important and his role in the million pound Snakes in the Heather project.
