Slaidburn, Stocks Reservoir and The Jetty

The pretty little village of Slaidburn, nestled in wonderful Bowland with the Yorkshire Dales not too far away. Our walk today starts from the village taking us up through farmland to meet the reservoir, Stocks Reservoir. The reservoir, created in 1932 for the Fylde coast water supply meant the flooding of the hamlet of Stocks-in-Bowland - which the reservoir owes its name.
After reaching the top of the reservoir we pass a small church at Dalehead, before circling the reservoir past a picturesque jetty that normally is available for some photos! We then reach the dam itself before retracing some earlier steps back into town.
The Hark to Bounty is a lovely local pub in the village - perhaps a cheeky pint before we head home!
