If you're looking for something a bit more challenging this summer, why not join us for this long distance day walk, which will complete a circuit of Saddleworth Moor?
Starting out from the centre of Greenfield, we will first of all head out to Dovestone Reservoir, before climbing up Chew Valley to Chew Reservoir, then joining the Pennine Way at Laddow Rocks. We will then follow the Pennine Way north to the top of Black Hill, down past Wessenden Head, then across Balck Moss and Rocher Moss to Brun Clough.
From here we will follow Standedge Trail, which follows the old horse road, down to Diggle, then follow the Huddersfield Narrow Canal back to Greenfield, where there will be an optional pub stop.

What to bring
You will need a good pair of waterproof boots, a set of waterproofs and possibly a pair of gaiters.
Food & drink
You will need a packed lunch and at least 2 litres of water for this walk, if the weather is hot you may need up to 4 litres. Please try to have everything you need with you before we set off, there are some shops near the start point, including a Tesco supermarket. There will be an optional pub stop at the end of the walk.
