Rosliston parkrun

Join OutdoorLads for a Saturday morning parkrun (or walk) at Rosliston.
This parkrun event has been planned to take place just before a nearby walk in Wychnor, Staffordshire which starts at 10:30am. I myself will be attending the nearby walk, lead by the lovely Darren, who is a parkrunner himself, and has said he will be attending this event. However, you don't need to be participating in the walk afterwards to sign up for this event as well.
The start of Darren's walk is an 18 minute drive from Rosliston parkrun, so you should still have time to complete your Park Run and get to the start of the walk in time, if you're able to complete the 5km route in less than 45 minutes. I frequently take part in a parkrun event before many of my Saturday day walks, and it's a good opportunity to do some stretching and have a warm up before a day walk.
For those of you who need more time than around 45 minutes to complete the 5km distance, and plan to participate in the planned day walk, should consider whether they will have enough time to complete this event and get themselves over to the start of the walk in plenty of time.
You can find details of Darren's walk here.
The 5km course consists of essentially one 5km loop, with parts of the route that doubles back on itself in two places on a mixture of tarmac paths, compacted gravel paths and trail paths. You can view the officical Park Run page for Rosliston here, as well as seeing an overview of the route on Google "My Maps" here.
You run/walk at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people, completion is a personal goal, not a race.
To take part in a parkrun and get your official time, you will need to have registered to receive your all important barcode. You will need to bring a hardcopy of this barcode with you, I always keep mine in my phone case. Parkrun events are run nationwide and indeed internationally.
The official start of the run is 9am and we will meet at 8:30 for a quick catch up and attend the pre run briefing.
As there will be several of us heading to another event straight after this one, the end time of this event will be 09:50am to allow enough time for us to get back to our cars and make our way over to the start of Darren's walk event in plenty of time.
For anyone who completes the course in a fairly quick time 20-40 minutes, we may have time to grab a quick brew at the Hub Cafe, as long as we allow enough time to get to the start of the event starting straight after this one.
