Join Ian on this amazing walk at the Roaches in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The roaches (les roches in french) is a gritstone escarpment above Leek & Tittesworth Reservoir. The ridge with its various rock formations rises to 505m. And on a clear day has amazing views of most of Cheshire and stretching towards the Welsh Hills, Snowdon, Shropshire & Lancashire including the Winter Hill Communications mast.
The Roaches Estate which includes Hen Cloud was purchased by the Peak District National Park Authority in the 1980s to safeguard the area from adverse development.
