Quiet Camping in South Windermere
23 people attending
5 places left
Please note that this is a basic campsite. Beautiful, but basic!
Join us as we visit this hidden gem of a campsite bang on the shores of Lake Windermere.
As with most of our camping events, no catering is provided. While you are welcome to cook for yourselves on site. Fire and BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground.
On Saturday, we will be organising a day walk, but if you would instead like to do your own thing, then there are plenty of things to do locally or should you want to bring your paddleboard, kayak or go for a swim then access the lake is seconds away. The YMCA North Camp (a few minutes up the road) does have boat hire facilities, but this will need to be arranged independently.
This event is suitable for tents only as the track to the campsite is quite bumpy, so it is not recommended for Campervans, Motorhomes, Caravans.
Dogs:
Dogs are welcome on the campsite, but you will be expected to be considerate of other campers and clear up behind them. There are Geese, Swans and ducks roaming loose on the site so please take this into account if you are thinking of bringing your dog, which will need to be on a lead at all times when on the site.
