A pub meal and evening walk in the Cheshire countryside

Join Ant and OutdoorLads for a walk through the Cheshire countryside after a pre-walk meal in the local country pub.
Now the long days are back, we've the opportunity for a few local evening walks, and this is the first of a few I've planned over the summer.
We'll meet at 18:45 for food in the Edgerton Arms Chop House before heading out for the walk at 19:45. We should return at about 21:45. To make sure we've enough time for the walk, we'll keep the food to a main course.
If you just want to come for the walk, that is fine; just be at the pub for around 19:30.
Points of interest on the route:
Bloor's Pits Quarry: A former quarry, now wetlands that are home to many water bird species including swans, herons and cormorants.
George's Wood: A small area of mixed deciduous and coniferous woodland we'll walk through; it is home to several woodland bird species such as thrushes, blackbirds and sparrow hawks.
St John's Church: Built in the 1700s to replace the medieval timber church, the Grade II listed St John's sits to the south east of Chelford and has an impressive red brick tower.
Dogs are welcome, though will need to be on leads if we go through any fields with livestock. There are also several stiles that dogs may need lifting over.
Message the event leader if you've any questions.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement

What to bring
Water: bring plenty of water (~2 Litres)
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Day rucksack: typically 20-30 litres, they are comfortable to wear and allow you to use your arms freely
Footware: ideally designed for hiking, sturdy trail runners are OK too.
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters
Layered clothing: lets you quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. Go for a base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather add an outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)
Trousers: ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK
Waterproofs: essential when hiking in all but the calmest of weather, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry
Gloves: Windproof, or better still, waterproof gloves are the best choice, bring a spare pair if expecting rain
Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer
Sunglasses: for any sunny day, even in winter
Sun cream: can be useful even on cloudy and winter days
Snacks: bring biscuits, energy bars, gels, bananas, chocolate or dried fruit for example and put them somewhere easy to get hold of
Food & drink
If you've eaten in the pub, you'll just need some water and a snack. If you're just coming for the walk, you may want to bring some food.
