Pennington Flash Circuit (Gold Route)

The Flashes were formed as a result of mining subsidence. The Flash was farmland before that.
Following Reclamatioin and improvements, the Flash Country Park was opened in 1981.
Along the route, includes
* Ramsdale’s Ruck is a spoil heap created when the Flash was partially filled with colliery waste.
* We will see where the land around the canal has sunk (it used to be level).
Along the route, there are toilets and I plan stopping off at the end at The Hide coffee house for lunch/coffee/cakes.
This is a nice easy, leisure walk, more a chance to socialise and see the local nature reserve. The Distances is 3 miles and with Lunch, we should be finished within 2-2.5 hours.
IMPORTANT! – Participation Statement:

What to bring
No special equipment needed, although I would recommend waterproofs, possibly an umbrella, wind proof hoodie/top.
This time of year I would recommend waterproof boots.
Food & drink
Due to the short nature of the walk, you will not need a packed lunch, and you can buy drinks and snacks on the route.
Maybe a good idea to bring a litre of water in case it becomes unusually hot.
