This walk is of reasonable length, with several steep ascents and descents, requiring a good level of fitness.

This is the eighth in a series of day walks along the Offa's Dyke Path - the idea is to eventually walk from the North Wales Coast to the border with England in stages, taking in some beautiful scenery en-route.

Starting on the outskirts of the town Rhuthun (Ruthin) we will head through farming fields and woodland, heading steeply uphill to Clwyd Gate where we will pick up the Offa's Dyke Path, following it South as it rounds and crosses several hills of the Bryniau Clwyd (Clwydian Range).

After crossing Moel y Gelli we will leave the Offa's Dyke Path and head back downhill, through the wooded village of Graigfechan and crossing fields to return to Rhuthun.

This walk is roughly 18.5 km/11.5 miles, with several steep ascents and descents, crossing a wide mix of terrain. Expect sections of muddy, rocky and uneven footing.

Well-behaved OutdoorDogs are very welcome. Note: Leads will be required in areas with livestock, and we will be crossing stiles frequently.
