This picturesque 7 mile circular walk is in an unspoilt area north of the River Wharfe and close to Leeds and Harrogate. This is an easy walk and great if you are new to OutdoorLads. We will meet at the village of Castley before taking farm tracks and fields to the villages of Weeton and North Rigton. Almscliff Crag is a millstone grit outcrop reported to have been used in ancient days for Druidical rites and ceremonies; today it is used by rock climbers and walkers, it has extensive views over the lower end of Wharfedale and to the Vale of York. After taking in the views we will make our way back to Castley via fields and woodland.

Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Day rucksack: typically 20-30 litres, they are comfortable to wear and allow you to use your arms freely

Gaiters: recommended for wet weather or boggy conditions
