A leisurely loop from Levenshulme
Take it easy on this relaxed 19-mile circular ride to Park Bridge and Daisy Nook Country Park, with plenty of green views, quiet trails, and time to soak it all in.
Whether you're new to cycling or just in the mood for something gentle, this ride is for you. We'll roll along at a friendly 8–10 mph pace, with no one left behind.
The Route
Starting in Levenshulme, we’ll follow the scenic Fallowfield Loop to Fairfield and on to Ashton town centre. Then we’ll join a converted railway path towards Park Bridge—a former ironworks site now surrounded by greenery and history. We can pause here for a breather, depending on how the group feels.
Next up is Daisy Nook Country Park, a beautiful mix of woodlands, canals, meadows, and lakes. From there, we'll wind our way through Failsworth’s Woodhouses area and into the nature-filled trails of Clayton Vale, following the River Medlock to Phillips Park. Then, it’s a calm cruise up the Ashton Canal and back onto the Fallowfield Loop to Levenshulme, where we can round off the day with a well-earned drink or bite to eat.
Terrain & Suitability
The route is mostly traffic-free or on quieter roads, though we may briefly encounter some busier sections. There are a few gentle climbs and mixed terrain: ideal for hybrids or mountain bikes, but still doable on a road bike with care. Some areas can get muddy, especially after rain.
Please ensure your bike is in good working order—you’ll be responsible for fixing any mechanical issues that arise during the ride.
