Where are we going?

We start at the Tyne Riverside Country Park, which is easy to reach by car or bike. Then we will head over Newburn Bridge and follow Keelman's Way, past Ryton and a golf club, until we reach Wylam. There we cross the river back to the north side and trail Hadrian's Way, past another golf course, back to the car park.

Optionally, we will then quench our thirst at the Keelman's pub which has nice outdoor seating and a QR code for ordering.

What could I see?

Going along the River Tyne, if we're very lucky, we may spot some common seals as we're making our way along the Newcastle <-> Carlisle railway. Look out for a passing train if you're a trainspotter. ;-)

We will walk through a nature reserve where there may be Grey Heron or Kingfishers. Even if we don't make contact with the local fauna, you could look out for the purple-blue heads of sea aster along the salty riverbanks.

We will also pass architecture of historical significance, like the Holy Cross Church in Ryton (Grade I), Footbridge at Wylam Station (Grade II) or George Stephenson's Cottage (Grade II) - just to name a few.

How long is this going to take?

It's about a 7 mile walk and should take 2:30h.

Any questions?

This is literally the first walk I'm going to lead. Is this description okay? Did I forget to mention anything? I appreciate any feedback you may have for me.
