Join us for an ascent of Scotland's most easterly Munro.

At 939m, Mount Keen is a solitary conical shaped peak on the edge of the Mounth - a sub-region of the Grampian mountains to the south of Strathdee. It is an easily climbed Munro with good quality footpaths most of the way to its summit and is commonly approached by two routes - from the north, by Glen Tanar or from the south from Glen Esk. For this event we will climb it by the latter route, which takes us up Glen Mark and past the Queen's Well - which marks a site once visited by Queen Victoria when she was pony trekking in the Angus Glens! If visibility from the summit is good, we should be rewarded by fine views towards the imposing Lochnagar to the west.

This is a relatively straightforward Munro to climb and suitable for those relatively new to hill-walking, but please ensure you are well equipped with suitable walking boots, waterproofs and spare warm clothing - weather conditions can change rapidly in mountainous terrrain.
