Maghull to Town Green canal walk

Join me on this leisurely early spring six mile walk from the beautiful town of Maghull.
This is an ideal walk for those who are new to OutdoorLads and want to try an event out as it's going to be a relaxed and leisurely walk. We are a friendly bunch so come join us for a stroll, a natter and a lovely lunch at the end of the walk!
What to bring
Water: bring at least a litre
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Rucksack: or any other bag
Footwear: hiking boots, sturdy trainers or wellies
Layered clothing: lets you quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. Go for a base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather add an outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)
Trousers: ideally not jeans which become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK
Waterproof jacket: breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry
Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer
Sunglasses: for any sunny day, even in winter
Sun cream: can be useful even on cloudy and winter days
Snacks: bring biscuits, energy bars, gels, bananas, chocolate or dried fruit for example and put them somewhere easy to get hold of
Lunch: bring a packed lunch unless otherwise stated
Food & drink
A packed lunch is not required for this event as we are going to be having a pub lunch at The Great Mogul at the end of our walk. However, please do ensure you bring plenty of water and snacks to keep you going along the way.
***FOOD ORDER UPDATE***
As the plan is for us to have lunch at The Great Mogul Pub in Maghull at 1pm, I have been asked by the pub to take pre-orders. Please see the web link below to make your choice. Full advanced payment for lunch orders is also required to complete the booking. This will make things run smoothly on the day.
The booking system for the walk itself will be closing at 12 midday on 15th March, so food orders and payments will need to be made directly to OutdoorLads by this date. Pub food pre-orders will not be able to be made after this date but the booking system for the walk will be re-opened the following day and will then close again on 22nd March at 4pm.
Whilst it may be possible to order food at the pub on the day, this is not guaranteed. The pub has also advised that orders on the day will not be served at the same time as those who have pre-booked. Therefore, advanced booking and payment is advised as soon as possible, please.
