Learning navigation skills

This event is for anyone who would like to improve their navigation skills. This is a friendly course run by an experienced group of leaders. Places are limited, as there are limited leaders. We will keep the groups with each leader quite small.

We will be based in the heart of the North York Moors so we can access areas and features to challenge and teach your navigation skills. We will work with you, developing outcomes that will help you gain the confidence for when out walking on your own, with a group, or even leading a group. Whether you are currently one of our leaders or not, this course should help give you a firmer grasp on navigating in the lowlands, hills or mountains.

We will be teaching mountain navigation skills which can then be adapted to any setting. There is no push to become a leader; this is purely for your own benefit and you can decide if you want to proceed to being a leader.

You WILL NEED a explorer 297 map lower whardedale and Washburn valley
