12 miles on good path to start, then rough ground. 2700 feet of ascent.

Bag a Munro and take in the spectacular scenery of Loch Turret, which supplies water to Scotland's oldest whisky distillery!

Ben Chonzie lies at the head of Glen Turret, near Crieff. Easily accessible from Edinburgh and Glasgow, this grand mountain just scrapes in as a Munro at 3054 feet. We'll start the walk at the Loch Turret dam car park, walking up past the loch and getting great views up the glen.

We'll then work our way between crags and lochans up on to the summit plateau, where, if the weather is good, we should get great views across Highland Perthshire and beyond.

For our return, we'll stay high and follow a ridge along to Carn Chois, before dropping back down to the loch to complete our circuit.
