Run alongside the venue's Special LGBTQ+ event - Join us for an evenings bouldering at Liverpool's premier Bouldering Wall @ their Sandhills venue.

The centre do a Meet + Great session for the group at 6:30pm (with a free cuppa!) so feel free to come along for that, or if you'd prefer to just come for climbing, that will start at around 7pm. The Tues-Gay climbing ends around 9, but the centre is open till 10pm if you have the energy to do a bit more! Any questions, please message the event leader.

Bouldering is a form of climbing where instead of long high routes, the 'problems' as they are referred to tend to be shorter and focus on technique, balance, body positioning and sometimes power. Because of this different emphasis, bouldering doesn't have the 'hassle' of climbing with ropes, harnesses and belaying, which makes the activities excellent for newcomers to the sport.

If you're a seasoned climber you won't need convincing about the benefits of bouldering, but for those who've never climbed more than a staircase, the benefits are wide ranging: from the physical - improved strength, tone, balance, power and coordination; mental - problem solving, focus, concentration and body awareness; to the emotional - relaxation, a sense of achievement and a feeling that mind and body are working together perfectly ('feeling psyched'). On top of all this, bouldering tends to be a very social sport where you can hang out with mates and each have a go as you feel regardless of what level you climb at.

This event is for members of all levels of experience and any member is welcome to come along to any of the sessions.

To come along and join in with us, you will need to register via the event page, and to climb you will need to pay the usual entry fee directly to the centre (pay this on arrival at the centre). You don't have to pay anything to OutdoorLads for this event- just register for free. I will meet any new faces at the till to help get you checked in.

Please complete your registration on The Hangar's website (click here) before your visit if this is your first time (this will save you having to do this on their tablets in centre, which will save you time when you arrive. Its also necessary to pre-book your climb currently (entrance is still limited due to Covid, so best to pre-book to avoid disappointment if full on arrival.
