3-4 hours of mountain hiking on and off path. 500m of up. Some boggy sections.

One in a series of walks across the country to coincide with Remembrance Sunday.

This event page is for those not attending the nearby bunkhouse weekend but would still like to join us for this walk.

Avro Lancaster Mk III NE132 of No.1653 Heavy Conversion Unit, RAF, crashed on Foel Ddu near Harlech on the 6th February 1945 with the loss of its entire seven man crew. More information is available here.

To coincide with Remembrance Sunday, we will walk to the crash site to coincide with the nations two minutes silence at 11am. I've allowed two hours to walk up the old miners' track to the summit of Foel Ddu. After The Last Post we will complete a circular loop down into the Afon Artro valley and back to the cars.

For those not rushing home, we will stop for a pint and a bite to eat at The Victoria Inn in Llanbedr.
