Join Will & Jon for a fortnight of cycling LEJOG, a cycle tour of the UK from Lands End to John O’Groats.  The whole route will take 14 days (plus 2 days travelling) covering 1000 miles so join for as much or as little as you can face!  The trip is organised as day events, allowing you to sign up to whatever days you fancy, booking your own transport and accommodation according to your budget.

DAY THIRTEEN - Aviemore to Lairg

A slight change to the original plan.  We are no longer heading to Golspie and the A9, but heading northwards, through Inverness to Lairg.  We cover 160km (100 miles) with 1170m of ascent.  No touristing today as we have a friggin long way to go.  We will, however stop for a long lunch and probably even an evening meal as we make the most of the 17 odd hours of daylight.

The route can be downloaded from here.

Thursday 16th July accommodation suggestions in Lairg:

  • handful of pubs and guest houses.
  • Lairg Highland Hotel looked nice.
  • Will, Jon & Skip are booked into Loch View B&B.

Keep costs down by getting twin rooms and sharing.

Getting there and back again
