Join Will & Jon for a fortnight of cycling LEJOG, a cycle tour of the UK from Lands End to John O’Groats.  The whole route will take 14 days (plus 2 days travelling) covering 1000 miles so join for as much or as little as you can face!  The trip is organised as day events, allowing you to sign up to whatever days you fancy, booking your own transport and accommodation according to your budget.

DAY TEN - Symington to Edinburgh

Almost a day off, a gentle 67km with 390m of ascent.  We leave the A74M behind and head cross country into Edinburgh for an ODL social.

We are saving up our touristing for Edinburgh as we will have the opportunity to spend half a day exploring this vibrant city.

The route can be downloaded from here.

Monday 13th July accommodation suggestions in Edinburgh:

  • plenty to choose from, you have your chains such as Premier Inn, Travelodge, Ibis and Holiday plus lots of independents.  Jon and Will are staying with friends.

Keep costs down by getting twin rooms and sharing.

Getting there and back again

If you are joining us for the day, the nearest train station to the starting point is in Lanark 14km away from Symington, though to be honest I'd just meet us in Edinburgh and cycle tomorrow.

If you are leaving us in Edinburgh, the nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverley.  There is an airport here plus the Caledonian Sleeper Train.

If you have any questions regarding equipment etc email Will.Allaway@Outdoorlads.com.

A lot of useful information is included in Day 0 - Getting to Lands End.
