I CAN NOT STRESS THE FOLLOWING ENOUGH;

THIS WALK WILL BE LONG, MUDDY AND BRISK PACED. THIS EPIC TRAIL IS DESIGNED FOR ENDURANCE AND YOU SHOULD TAKE HEED BEFORE SIGNING UP!!

YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO ENSURE YOU ARE FIT AND WOULD BE ABLE TO WALK THIS DISTANCE PRIOR TO ATTENDANCE!

STILL KEEN? THEN READ ON:

Beginning in Tring, we will set a brisk pace heading south east through parts of Ashridge Estate, towards Potten End.

Here we head south into Hemel Hempstead for a lunch and/or pub stop.

After lunch we will be passing the railway station at Hemel, marking the approx halfway point.  Any members wishing to end their day early may do so here (you can get a train back to London or back to Tring to collect your car). For those who wish to continue, we will battle on, south west, into Bovingdon and across the disused airfield, turning west to reach Whelpley Hill.

From here its northwest through Ashley Green and north over Cholesbury Common before pounding Wiggington Bottom from the rear!

The final part of our walk will begin by heading down to Cow Roast where we join the Grand Union Canal.  This will signal the last stretch to a victorious finish and the sweet smell of success and home, back to where it all began and memories were made.

While you rest on your homeward journey and you rub your aching bits and try to soothe your souls, I will be walking the 1.25 miles home (up hill ish)...........

Now lets see if this walk gets a waiting list..HAHA!

Dogs:

I love having dogs on my walks and this walk is fairly suitable for them. There are some woods, fields and canal tow paths on which they could run free. A dog off the lead must be obedient.
