Join us for a 6 mile walk from North Ferriby to Barton-Upon-Humber. We'll head up and across the Humber Bridge, which was once famous for being the longest suspension bridge in the world, to the historic town of Barton-Upon-Humber for a spot of lunch at one of the many bars & cafes on offer. Of course if you wish you may bring your own pack up and find a nice scenic spot to enjoy your lunch.
Along the way we will take in some fantastic views of East Yorkshire, the city of Kingston-Upon-Hull and the rural countryside of North Lincolnshire.
Hopefully, weather permitting, we will get some amazing photos of the Humber Bridge, the Humber Estuary (which is the 2nd largest coastal plain estuary in the UK) and all the local wildlife.
We will stop in Barton for about 1hr / 1hr 30mins for lunch and to visit some of the attractions Barton has to offer. We will make the return journey to Hull by bus (if you need to return to Ferriby station, it’s an hour’s walk or 15 minute train journey from Hessle, on the North side of the bridge) so that you can be in Hull in plenty of time to prepare for the Hull Autumn Social.
