Beamsley Beacon is also known as Howber Hill, it's just under 400m high, so a smouty little hillock, but very accessible from Ilkley. There are several routes to the top and back again. We will be walking through woodland, fields and open moorland.

The walk will be about eight miles, but we do go steeply uphill at one stage. The plan is to go through Middleton Woods, past Myddleton Lodge towards Nestfield and Langbar. Up to the bottom of Beamsley Beacon where we go up by the steep route to the trig point. We come down through access land and into Middleton where the last bit is road walking back to the cars.

We will be walking on access land some of the time, so sorry dogs need to stay at home.
