Hidden Oxford

Hi guys. Join me for a city walk around Oxford looking at a few hidden gems. After meeting up at the Station we will walk to the city centre, past the small theatre funded by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor during their sensational fortnight in the city in 1966. After passing the spot where 3 Protestant clergymen were burned at the stake we'll visit the Science Museum - highlights include props and & costumes from the BBC HBO series His Dark Materials based on the books by Philip Pullman, plus the blackboard used by Albert Einstein to explain his theory of relativity. After lunch at the historic Covered Market opened in 1774 we'll discover the grave of a world famous children's author and visit Magdalen College (£9.50 entry - or free to anyone living near the city or holding University, Bodleian Library or OUP membership).
Then we'll end the day with a social at the Jolly Farmers LGBTQ+ pub in Paradise St (please sign up for this social too)

Food & drink
There are a variety of food stalls in the Covered Market from pasty shops to salad bars. It's a short walk to Cornmarket Street which has a variety of typical High Street food chains
