Come and join ODL for an evening’s climbing at the Glasgow Climbing Centre. Whether this is your first experience of climbing or a pro, this venue has something for everyone.

This event is for members of all levels of experience and ability and all are welcome to come along.
To come along, you will need to register via the event page, and to climb you will need to pay an entry fee directly to the centre when you arrive. See their website for a list of prices.
The ratio of competent climbers to beginner climbers is 1:2
Climbing both outdoor and indoors is a dangerous activity it is imperative that you follow the leaders instructions at all times.
I'm new to climbing - can I come along? Yes!
Full instructions will be given, you will need to be signed in, please contact event leader to arrange this. You will also need to rent a harness and climbing shoes.

IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
What to bring
If you have your own climbing gear i.e. harness, shoes, chalk-bag, Belay plate and screw-gate karabiner, climbing rope, you can bring this along, but please make sure it is in good condition.
As a minimum you will need the use of a climbing harness and a belay device (belay plate and a screw-gate karabiner, or a gri-gri if you have one). If you do not have your own, you will be able to hire what you need directly from the centre. Hire of equipment at the centre is £4.50 each for shoes and harness.
What to Wear
It is best to wear loose clothing: either shorts, combats or tracksuit bottoms. No jeans or any form of trouser which hampers movement. A t-shirt or vest is also suitable. Also bring a loose fitting top or jumper as the climbing hall can get cold.
Any jewellery such as rings, watches, chains or bangles should be removed before beginning the session to prevent injury.
Food & drink
There is a café in the balcony area of the climbing centre where we usually break for a snack during the evening.
