Distance is 6 miles (10km); total climb is 330 feet (100m); terrain has some slight inclines; surfaces are fields and quiet paved country lanes.

This fine Lincolnshire walk takes us through the wonderfully named hamlet of Gayton le Wold, from there we climb slightly before descending into the Bain valley, passing through the site of a deserted medieval village.  The next stretch is a beautiful and relaxing stroll beside the River Bain, passing a picturesque mill just before reaching Donnington on Bain, a most attractive village sheltering below the wolds.

The final stretch begins with an easy climb onto a broad ridge and continues along the ridge, from which there are superb views over the Bain valley.
