An evening Leisure Cycle around the Airport.

A leisurely social bike ride from the suburbs of South Manchester  out to Cheshire Lanes and around the perimeter of th Airport.

The majority of the ride is on roads, but we will follow a short section of the TransPennine Trail along the River Mersey and a bridleway around the airport perimeter.

This event is around 20 miles and is reasonably flat except for crossing the Bollin Valley

We have plenty of time to complete the route and we will take it at a relaxed pace and no one will be left behind.

Bring Lights just in case of any unexpected delays.

Road cyclists: Please be aware some paths might be a little rough and bumpy for thin tyres, but doable none the less.  some sections of mud can be expected on the trails.
Mountain bikers: As much as possible we will try and keep off roads. Some navigation on-road will be unavoidable.

Pace and Terrain
This will be a leisurely cycle suitable for those of all levels of fitness. The majority of the route is off road on dedicated Cycleways, Bridleways and quiet rural lanes.  This event is open to cyclists of all abilities and bike types. The route is flat with the biggest climbs on approach to bridges!!

If you're not a regular cyclist, please do make sure your bike is in good condition - check the tyres are well inflated, chain is oiled, and you've got a spare inner tube, drinks and snacks with you.
